I know that many of last year's Juvinile girls are moving up to Intermediate. Amanda Hoffman and Lili'u Pickford are some of them. Raelani Mark is staying Intermediate, I think, as well as Savannah Hanby, Chrissy Hughes is moving up to senior. I don't know about Jr. Ladies, or much about Novice. Anyone else?

yeah intermediate will be a really big group this year!
Who so you think will be top in that group?
and novice too?

intermediate: know of anyone who has their double axel?
Novice: know of anyone who has their double axel?

thanks! :D

Yes, there are some intermediates that have 2As.

I hear Lili'u has a nice one, and Raelani's is good too.

Like I said before, I really have no clue on the Novices this year. It'll be good to see who's there! It should be a really good competitive season, especially for all those intermediates!

yeah;

it should be exciting!

itermediate is the largest group
for sure! novice; big but not quite as big.

Have you seen lili'u or raelani land a double axel?

i've seen Rae's and it is amazing, effortless and huge and consistent :-)

oh and I'm not so sure Chrissy Hughes is moving up to Sr. And last time I talked to her, she was planning on staying a Jr.

Michelle Murphy is moving up to Novice and I have heard she has a double axel. The first major competition in the NW is this coming weekend, May Blades, so we will see. I know Chrissy Hughes and Raelani Mark are NOT competing in it though.

Chrissy's new bio on USFSA says she's a Senior. Maybe she changed her mind?

Oh yay! Mayblades is going to be great!!

I've seen Lili'u's 2A, and it's really good too. We'll see if any of these girls do them under pressure!!

I wonder if anyone is planning on doing them so early in the season? I wouldn't be surprised if someone left it out. But as we all know, jumps isn't everything anymore! Good news for those skater-skaters who maybe don't have all the technical elements, but have that special little extra "something" that no one else does.

Note: Moderator has split off the May Blades competition posts to create a separate May Blades thread in the 2007 Competitions forum.

aww well okay, i guess well get to see her around sometime this summer

Im really having a problem trying to figure out what juniors are in NWP this year though lol, what is there gonna be like 6 girls at regionals?

so far, the only one I can think of from regionals last year is ashley beekman, she will probably move up, shes turning 18 and shes been a novice for 3 years right?in fact I don't even know if shes gonna be skating this year?? does anyone have any ideas about juniors?

nationally I think it will be very hard but in NWP it doesnt seem like theres too much goin on, a few of the really good novices are staying at novice so that makes a adifference

NWP this year

Postby Uppersgal on Thu Jul 12, 2007 8:26 pm

There haven't been many recent posts so it might be fun to revisit this thread. Ice Fest took place in Seattle in May but have any other unseens skated strong this year so far for NWP region? :?:

At the 13th Annual Jo Williams Memorial Cup Championships that took place in Spokane, Washington on July 13-14, Jennifer Dawson (Tri-Cities FSC) was 3rd in the Junior Ladies SP and FS. Anyone know of more results?

Chrissy Hughes (Highland SC) and Olivia Olsen (Seattle SC) are both registered to compete in the Senior Ladies event at the Silicon Valley Open, August 8-11, along with Charissa Gliori (Anchorage FSC) in Junior Ladies and Heidi Nelson (Lilac City FSC) in Novice Ladies.

ETA: I've split off absolutly amazin's post to create a separate thread in the 2007 Competitions forum for news & results from the Pacific Northwest InterClub Skating Championships this weekend (thanks for the link!).

I was wondering if anyone can think of anyone that is going to be at regionals at the Jr. level this year. So far i can think of Charissa Gliori, Mara, Jennifer Dawson, Alicia Prince, Sarah Gonzalas (maybe, i am not sure about her), and Ashley Beekman (maybe, but i have not seen her at all this year)

Anybody have anymore information?

As was mentioned in the Pacific Northwest InterClub (Aug. 3-5) comp. thread in the 2007 Competitions forum, Paige Lawver appears to have switched from SA to NWP for this season - link to PNIC results: http://www.pacificnwinterclub.com/

Nov.

Postby Uppersgal on Sat Aug 18, 2007 4:15 pm

For Novice, the following unseens may make a good showing: Heidi Nelson, Brett McCoubrey, Britt Olson, Michelle Murphy, Alyssa Brooks, and Anastasia Ji. Many of these ladies have competed this season in competitions posted here (Ice Fest, NW Interclub, Broadmoor, etc.). There are others, of course. I wonder if Novice will be one group or two this year?

If anyone has any notable competition news or results from the Inland Northwest FSC's Northwest Fall Open this weekend (Sept. 21-22) held at the Eagles Ice-A-Rena in Spokane, Washington, please post here and I can split off and create a new thread in the 2007 Competitions forum. Thanks!
