--------------------------------------

Five Senior B competitions are currently listed on USFS' 2009-10 International Assignments page for the fall of 2009. One of them will be designated the Collegiate International competition. The 5 are:

Nebelhorn Trophy, September 24-27, Oberstdorf, Germany
Finlandia Trophy, October 8-11, Vantaa, Finland [no pairs]
Ice Challenge (new event) October 28-November 1, Graz, Austria
Coupe de Nice, November 4-8, Nice, France
Golden Spin, November 12-14, Zagreb, Croatia

It is not yet known how many U.S. skaters/teams will be assigned to each of these competitions. I assume that selections will once again be made based on Nationals results and/or performances at summer monitoring competitions.

Thanks for all the info. BTW, Bebe Liang also has to do Sectionals. Of course, if either Bebe or Alexe gets Skate America, then they can happily wave bye bye to sectionals! :) Same thing for those TBA Pairs spots...come on Indy, I'm ready!

Dice Mirakami got NHK so he's a Sr GP rookie.
He's become one of the skaters in the "Special Reinforcement" classification by JSF.
Let's see how he does in Finlandia before the GP.

Thanks for the senior international debut news about Murakami, sorcerer!

I've moved the Senior B comments from haribobo's post from the Easterns thread to this relevant thread:
haribobo wrote:It will be interesting to see if Shaun and/ or Tommy gets an assignment to Ice Challenge (Oct 28-Nov 1, Austria), Coupe de Nice (Nov 4-8), or Golden Spin (Nov 12-14)....I'm not sure if any event besides Golden Spin would get these guys out of Sectionals, which is Nov 17-22 in Newark DE. I'm pretty sure Ice Challenge wouldn't get them out of Sectionals...Coupe de Nice is in that range between 1-2 weeks...If USFS does assign these events, other likely candidates to get them include Doug Razzano, Jon Cassar, Dennis Phan, and Parker Pennington...

Coupe de Nice is designated as the Collegiate international again this year. Jason Wong and Michael Solonoski are eligible to go, having placed 1-2 at the Collegiate Championships last month; ditto for Chelsea Morrow and Tatiana Khazova.

Haven't yet heard how many more Senior B assignments (Ice Challenge/Golden Spin) will be made in addition to Carriere and Alex Johnson (both were officially assigned to Finlandia on 9/4). The other Finlandia entries for the U.S. are Molly Oberstar, Becky Bereswill and Summersett/Gilles in dance.
