2003 Eastern Great Lake Regional Junior Mens Champion
Woolwine told Unseen Skaters in an interview during the summer of 2002: "I'm working very hard to skate well at all the competitions this year. I plan to skate with more consistency and more artistic presentation on the ice." When asked what motivates him to keep training, he replied: "Skating my best so that I can be a part of the international team that travels and sees all the great places of the world!" He names Scott Hamilton as his favorite skater "because he's been through some much and is still a great performer. He's also the one that inspired me to learn my backflip." Off the ice, Woolwine enjoys boating, swimming, raising fresh water stingrays and riding his dirt bike.

Ben Woolwine was born on February 15, 1984, in Covington, KY, and lists his hometown as Ft. Wright, KY. He represents and trains at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he is coached by Mitch Moyer. Woolwine is 5’6” and attends Abeki High School. He started skating lessons at the age of 10, after attending a friend's birthday party at an ice rink and getting hooked on the sport.
