Mimi Whetstone & Benjamin Cohen > Junior Dance

Mimi Whetstone, 16, is originally from Oklahoma City, OK. She began skating when she was 6 years old after watching the 1992 Olympics. She says Janet Lynn is one of her favorite skaters, as are Tanith Belbin & Benjamin Agosto. Off the ice, she likes to dance, scrapbook and spend time with her family. She represents the Oklahoma City FSC.

Ben Cohen is 17 and originally from Alexandria, VA. He began skating when he was five after going to a public session with his parents and now skates for the Washington FSC. He says "I am motivated by the sense of daily accomplishment. My sense of accomplishment is always short lived because I take pleasure in working towards my next goal." Off the ice, he likes to listen to music and work with "eveything new and high tech." His favorite skaters are Belbin & Agosto, Ilia Averbukh and Justin Pekarek. Cohen won the 2002 US Nationals in Novice Dance with his previous partner Sarah Solomon.

Whetstone & Cohen train in Reston, VA with Scott Myers. They began skating together in 2003 after the Pair & Dance Tryout in Texas after Nationals. Their overall goal in skating is to be the first American team to place third or higher at Worlds or the Olympics.
