Julia Vlassov & Drew Meekins > Novice Pairs (see Julia Vlassov)
2003 US National Novice Pairs Pewter Medalists

Julia Vlassov, 12, first skated at age four because both of her parents are skating coaches. She began skating seriously at age six, and competes in ladies freestyle and well as pairs. She says: "I just enjoy competitions so much that I want to skate even better in practice and that's what keeps me going in skating!" Vlassov skates for the New England FSC. She likes playing tennis, golfing, spending time with her friends, shopping and collecting stickers and ceramic cats.

Drew Meekins, 15, also competes in both pairs and freestyle. He began skating at age 12 because his sister was taking lessons. He skates for the Colonial FSC, and likes going to Boston and watching the Red Sox. Meekins says he loves “being out on the ice with just my partner. I also love competing and the adrenaline rush it gives me.”

Vlassov & Meekins began skating together in 2002 and train in Acton, MA. They are coached by Alexander Vlassov.
