Chynna Pope > Junior Ladies
2003 New England Regional Junior Ladies Bronze Medalist
Chynna Pope (her first name is pronounced like the country, 'China'), of the SC of Boston, was born on April 3, 1987. She began skating at the age of three, although she did not enjoy it at first. At age five, she began private skating lessons and also played some ice hockey. Pope is now coached by Tom Lesinski and Lisa Coppola. Pope enjoys the competitive aspect of skating, and admires Sasha Cohen for her attitude and her style. Her favorite jumps are the double axel and double loop. Long-term, Pope would like to compete at the U.S. Championships on the Senior level, master all of the triple jumps and become a model. Pope says of skating: " I love the competitive atmosphere the sport offers. I also like the independence of being at the rink with my friends."
