2000 US National Junior Ladies Bronze Medalist

Kathryn Orscher, better known as Katie, began skating at age 6. She was born on June 18, 1984, in Hartford, CT, and represents the Skating Club of Hartford. As a singles skater, Orscher won the bronze medal in Junior Ladies at 2000 US Nationals and competed twice internationally, winning the gold medal at Triglav Trophy in April 2000.

In November 2000, Orscher announced that she would be leaving ladies singles to start pairs with Garrett Lucash. They train in Simsbury, CT, and their coaches are the 1994 World pair champions from Russia, Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova. Orscher and Lucash made their Senior Pairs debut in the 2001-2002 season, and placed 5th at 2002 US Nationals and 10th in their first international competition, the Four Continents Championships in Jeonju, Korea. In 2003, they won the silver medal at US Nationals.
