Born on June 4, 1985 in Downers Grove, IL, Evan Lysacek, of Naperville, IL, began skating at age eight. Coached by Viktor Kudriavtzev and Marie Jezak Athey, he trains in Addison, IL. His choreographer is Oleg Epstien, and he attends Neuqua Valley High School. He skates for the DuPage FSC.

The 2001 and 2003 World Junior Silver Medalist is 5’9,” and hopes to compete at the 2006 Olympic Games, and to graduate from college. Lysacek has two sisters, also athletes, and says if her weren't skating, he would be playing ice hockey.
