Amber Czisny > Senior Ladies
2003 Midwestern Sectional Champion
Amber Czisny was born in Sylvania, Ohio on June 25, 1987. (Her twin sister, Alissa, is also a competitive figure skater.) She began skating at the age of eighteen months, when her mother began taking skating lessons, and the twins refused to stay home with a baby sitter. Czisny and her sister now train in St. Clair Shores, MI and skate for the St. Clair Shores FSC. She has been coached by Julianne Berlin and Patrick O'Neil since the age of eleven. Her choreographer is Simone Grigorescu. Czisny is home schooled by her mother. One of Czisny's strongest elements is her spins, which she was taught to do her by her mother. Asked to describe a difference between herself and her sister, Czisny said: "Alissa is the one who is always late, and I am the one that says what I'm thinking." Says Czisny: "I really love so many things about figure skating. I enjoy performing for an audience, skating to music and being able to interpret it in a creative way. I also love to compete, and it's fun to do it with my sister, Alissa. Figure skating always seems to have some new challange when you've been able to master another; it doesn't get boring."
