Alissa Czisny > Senior Ladies
2001 US National Junior Ladies Silver Medalist
Alissa Czisny was born June 25, 1987 in Sylvania, Ohio. (Czisny's twin sister, Amber, is also a skater.) She began skating at the age of eighteen months; her mother began taking skating lessons and was forced to bring her daughters with her when they refused to stay home with a baby-sitter. Czisny and her sister now train in St. Clair Shores, MI and skate for the St. Clair Shores FSC. She is coached by Julianne Berlin and Patrick O'Neil. Her choreographer is Simone Grigorescu. Czisny is home schooled by her mother. The 5'1" Czisny would one day like to win the Worlds and the Olympics. Considered be an expert spinner, Czisny is looking to improve her artisty and maturity on the senior level. Czisny says one of her most memorable skating moments was skating just before Michelle Kwan at the 2002 U.S. Nationals. "It was so exciting to be on the same warm up ice with such a beautiful skater, and then to be able to watch her compete her short program as I stood by the boards, just having completed mine." Her favorite jump is the triple lutz. She also likes spirals and Russian splits. Off the ice, she enjoys scuplting clay, playing the piano, rollerblading, biking, dancing ballet, playing tennis and raquetball and beading.
