Young-In Bae was born on June 22, 1988. She began rollerskating at age six and eventually switched to ice skating. She now trains in South Dennis, MA with Evy Scotvold, with Cheryl Franks as her choreographer. She skates for the SC of Boston and hopes to one day compete at the Olympics and be "a skater everyone loves to watch and look up to." She also plans to go to college and work as a model.

Bae admires Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen, but says her parents have had the great influence on her skating. Off the ice, she likes to shop, work out, be with her friends, swim and listen to music. Bae says she loves to skate because "it gives me a feeling of being free and it feels like nothing else matters."
