Colette Appel was born on July 22, 1986 in Hartford, CT. She began skating at the age of four, and previously competed in pairs with Adam Kaplan. In her free time, she enjoys shopping and going to see movies. Appel is an individual member of the USFSA.

Lee Harris was born in Ontario, Canada, on October 16, 1981. Harris began skating at age three, and off the ice he enjoys working out, music and hockey. He represents the Detroit SC.

The 2001-2002 season was Appel & Harris's first season together. They train in Newington, CT, and are coached by Bob Young and Kathy Collings. Julie Marcotte is their choreographer.
