Mattina Alonge was born on the 24th of April, 1986 in Buffalo, NY. She began skating when she was five years old, after attending a USFSA Basic Skills session. Alonge is from Dunkirk, NY, but currently trains in Jamestown, NY. She skates for the Jamestown SC and attends Dunkirk High School. Her coaches are Lenel van deer Berg and Kirk Wyse.

Alonge says her mother has had the most impact on her skating. She would like to someday be a choreographer, and off the ice, she likes to write and play on the computer.
