Exclusive to Unseen Skaters. August 24, 2003.
Hi everyone,
I just got back from the Moran Memorial in Hackensack, NJ. I competed both with my programs and won both sections of the competition, but they weren't combined. I was really pleased with the way I skated. The short was much better than it was in June, and I got to wear my new dress that Monica Grecco made for me. It came out so awesome! I love it! My mom took some pictures and I went to get them developed. Hopefully my scanner will work and I can get them up in the Visualization section to show everyone. My long was a huge accomplishment for me. I hadn't competed a long since Regionals in October 2002 and it it was so bad there. I had to overcome the feelings I had left from then. I still have things I need to work on, but I'm glad I have a strong performance under my belt. It was just a good two days for me anyway. I had quite a few students competing who all did very well. My mom got to come see both programs, and my boyfriend Tom and my cousin Jacqueline made it in to see my long.
I'm taking two days off the ice, and hopefully it will be a time where my back can get stronger again. I was off the ice for a week in the beginning of August because of terrible problems including muscle spasms. In fact, if it wasn't for competition I wouldn't have skated much this month. I constantly reek of IcyHot because it's the only thing that makes it possible for me to skate. If I have to, I'll take off the whole week, but hopefully that's not neccessary because I need to get ready for Middle Atlantics which are Sept. 18-21 in NY. I hope everyone has a nice Labor Day weekend, after that it's back to school for me on the 4th :(. Talk to you all after Mids.
Love,
Stephanie
