Stephanie Roth Journal (02/02/03) by Stephanie Roth
Exclusive to Unseen Skaters. February 2, 2003.
Hi everyone, It's been a long time and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I have quite a bit to update you with, but I'll try to keep it short. Last week I started my Spring semester. I hope it goes as well as my fall one did. I have a 3.67 GPA and I'd really like to keep that going. I have an incredibly tight schedule, but I've been skating everyday. I've decided not to keep last years programs. As much as I loved both of them, they have too many negative experiences attached to them. This way I can start the new year fresh. I have chose Vanessa Mae's "Tocata in Fugue in D Minor" for my short and I'm kind of stuck between "The Sleeping Beauty" and "Romeo and Juliet" for my long. I'm hoping for the second, but my long hasn't really been talked about yet. I'm currently working on my short and I'm happy to say that in taking my time I've been able to come up with some interesting things to go it. I would like to have my first competition be Cherry Blossoms if I can get my long done and have ample time to prepare. If not, I'm not going to stress about it. I plan on doing most of the little competitions over the early spring to get rid of the nerves that seemed to overtake me so much last year. As far as my other competitions go, I'll be doing Liberty and for the first time I get to do Colleigate Nationals. I'm very excited about that and I can't wait. That's all we've really figured out so far. I think this will be a much more successful year for me ... I was a little too unsure of my capabilities last year, this year I know what I've got to do, I've got plenty of time to do it in, and I know I can do it. That's it for now ... talk to you all in a month. Love,
