Spotlight on Louann Donovan by Holly
Exclusive to Unseen Skaters. June 8, 2000.

The 2000 Novice Bronze Medalist and 2000 Novice Triglav Trophy Silver Medalist, Louann Donovan, recently took the time to do a short Q&A session for Unseen Skaters.

When and how did you begin skating?
I begin skating at age six in the USFSA's Learn to Skate Program in Stoneham, MA, because Nancy Kerrigan skated there.

What are your skating goals for this season?
My goals for this season are to get back to Nationals as a Junior Lady, do clean short and long programs and medal.

What are you long term goals for yourself in skating?
My long-term goals are to compete at the U.S. Nationals as a Senior Lady and to skate for the US in international, world and Olympic events.

You have an official website, message board and an unofficial keeper's club. What's your reaction to having so many fans online, so soon?
About my website, official message board and unoffical fanclub. I would not have a website if it was not for Ellery, she is a great webmaster. All I can say is if it was not for Mike Yeomans I would not have fans from different states and countries. Mike is the biggest figure skating fan there is, and he is my first fan. I love the keepers site; it's great.

You recently competed at your first international competition, the 2000 Triglav Trophy. Can you describe what it was like?
My first international competition was a blast; I had so much fun. The first time you hear the announcer say "Louannn Donovan, representing the United States of America!", is so great! I will never forget it. I felt so proud!

Anything special we should look for in your programs next season?
This year I will have a triple lutz, a triple flip, a triple loop, a triple toe loop and a triple salchow in my long.
